Wish to remove unwanted tattoos? Experience the magic of Laser therapy. Lasers emit a specialised light that passes through the skin and gets absorbed by its target (in this case, the pigment of a tattoo). This causes the tattoo pigments to break up and disappear, leaving your skin smooth and clear.
At Skinaid Clinic, we use Q-Switched Lasers to effectively remove variety of tattoos. To decide which one to bring in use, our expert Dr. Atula examines the tattoo, pigment colours, size, and skin type very closely.
In most cases, we are able to remove the tattoo completely. However, the outcome depends on the type, size, number of inks used, and other such factors which significantly affect the ability of tattoo removal through laser treatment.
The procedure is mostly compared to snapping of a rubber band. To numb the area of treatment, we administer topical anesthesia through creams. If one feels any discomfort, we recommend application of cool compress.
Once your tattoo is removed, a specialised dressing is used to cover and protect the treated area from dirt and other debris or harm. Our expert Dr. Atula recommends applying the prescribed antibiotic ointment. You should also avoid scrubbing the treated area.
The number of sessions are determined upon examination of the volume and type of ink use, and how deep is its penetration into the skin. In general, a tattoo removal requires 6-8 sessions which are spaced approximately 4-6 weeks apart.
Different colours respond differently to different laser technology. If your tattoo is all black, your tattoo will disappear completely. Q-Switched Laser is best suited to remove pigments like black, blue, yellow, red, and green. Colours like purple also tend to respond well, but depends on the depth of penetration into the skin.
